About
Space-Mullet is an episodic style comic about a washed up, Ex-Space Marine trucker named Jonah, and his alien co-pilot, Alphius. Together they do their best (and usually fail) to do good throughout the galaxy.
My name is Daniel Warren Johnson, I’m a freelance artist, illustrator, and designer based in Chicago. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this comic, great work! I met you at comic con, bought a print and chatted for a few. It was great and its inspired me to hit the table again and start drawing. Keep up all the great work!
Sammy,
Thanks do much for taking the time to comment! I’m so glad Space-Mullet has inspired you to keep going at it with your art. Seriously, that’s so cool to hear. Thank YOU for reading, and hopefully I’ll see you at C2E2!
Just remember the rules of the Mullet Club! Rule #1… Don’t talk about mullets (or the club)!!
Amen to that one!
Hey! thanks for the signed poster. I read every comic page this morning, & I have to say, Howard is epic. And maybe Jonah should get a beard…? I don’t know.
You’re welcome Erik! Thanks for taking the time to read. Maybe I’ll give Jonah a beard sometime down the road. That mustache is a ton of fun to draw though….
Cool! At first I thought the mustache was his mouth… lol
Hey there, met you at Comic Con and was sad to see i couldn’t just buy this comic as a whole. I’m reading through it slowly and its wonderful so far. Please do Think about getting funding for publishing or what not, would gladly love to have a hard copy and would help put a few dollars to fund the publishing!
Thank you Zach! Your support is felt and appreciated!
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy space mullet (now at chapter 3). Drawing style, story and execution!

Still gorgeous.
yessss! thanks!
Hey Dan we met a few con’s I was the kid with the dreads, thanx for being so nice to me and making a great story like space mullet I refuse to catch up so there’s always more to read …and your arts fantastic.
Hi Daimon! Thanks for saying hello and for the kind words! Send me an email with some of your work samples! I wanna see how you’re coming along. Take care! And thanks for reading!
Daniel, just gotta tell you how much I Love this comic. I hover with anticipation every Monday and Thursday!
Cool characterization, just enough mystery, incredible action. The particles flying always just do it for me… 😉 Also love the subtext of love and honor, way deeper than your ordinary speculative rocket blast. thanks tons, keep it up!!!
PS, really enjoy SG’s as a weapon, perhaps get a Hagstrom or an Ibanez in ther sometime? (just kidding…)
I will make sure to include an Ibanez for you! Thanks for your comment!
Ibanez sounds good!
Just wanted to let you know that this comic is very good and you are extremely talented. Never stop drawing.
Keep up the good work man.
Hey man! Space Mullet is amazing, one of the best things i’ve stumbled upon in a long time! Inspires me to pick up the pencil and hit it hard when it comes to improving my craft. Thanks.
Dude! Thanks for that! It means a ton to me to know that SM is helping others get fired up. It seriously makes my day. Cheers!
Hi Daniel, I came across your work via an podcast on MakingComics.com. Just wanted to say I think your art is great. I don’t normally read comics that often but I really look forward to getting into Space Mullet as it’s bringing together my childhood love of Calvin and Hobbes with Star Wars.
I also just wanted to let you know I came across your book in a bookstore (Foyles) in Birmingham UK a week or two ago… I might pick it up when I have some spare change!
Oh dear! Just finished reading up to the last page and man! Why you don’t have a million fans is beyond me. This is possibly the best thing I’ve read this year! Thanks you for the experience. is there still a way to by the paper edition? Will it continue? What a cliffhanger!
Hi Warren!
Big hi from London england! Just finished volume 1 of your book…..WOW! You’re a one man power house! Soon as I finished it looked on your site to see when volume 2 will be done. Do you have any news on that. Keep up the great inspiring work! All the best!
