Hey all,
Sorry there’s no comic today. On Friday, my wife got a call that her mom was in the hospital, suffering from liver failure. We’ve been in Wisconsin since then, spending time with family and saying goodbye. My mom in law has been valiantly fighting stage 4 breast cancer for 5 years, and after having it spread to her liver, today she went home to be with the Lord. She went peacefully without any pain, and the whole family was there to see her off.
My mom in law was an amazing person, strong and loving. When I told her I was quitting my job to be a comic artist, she told me she believed in me and has supported us ever since. Upon hearing that I was going to be published in Prophet, she was prepared to brave the sketchy local Wisconsin comic store to go buy it, where “there are multiple drug deals a week” happening. She was actively following Space-Mullet, and “was looking forward to seeing Alphius coming back.” @#!*% , I wish I had a chance to tell her how it all ended.
So, I’m calling a mulligan for today and Thursday. I just need some time with family without having to upload any pages. I will see all you awesome readers on Monday. Have a great week. Thank you for taking the time to comment, buy stuff at cons, and be awesome in general. You’re all wonderful. Your prayers are appreciated, especially from my number 1 gun, supporter, and backbone(my wife).
God bless you,
DWJ

Bad things happen, but you’ve made the most of it. The positive influence she has had continues with you so she’s not gone, but remembered and cherished.

Take whatever time you need. I experienced a similar loss a couple months ago, when my father passed away. The delay won’t impact the pleasure I get from reading Space Mullet.
My condolences dude. Take the time you need.
